S. Mateos obtained a MSc in Industrial Engineering and a PhD from the University of Oviedo (Spain) in 1991 and 1996 respectively. Since 1990, he works as Senior Lecturer in the Department of Construction and Manufacturing Engineering at the same University. He worked in the field of automation and manufacturing process planning. His current area of interest is focused on the implementation and integration of contact and non-contact inspection and scanning sensors in different equipment and production machines. He has participated in numerous research projects and published many articles in indexed journals and conference papers.
Projects: On-machine geometric inspection by means of Conoscopic Holography applied to freeform surfaces generated by milling, Real-time Compensation of Layer Geometry Errors for Additive Manufacturing Processes, Application of Conoscopic Holography Sensors for on CNC-Machines Inspection of Machined Surfaces, Accuracy Enhancement of Metal MEX Manufactured Parts through Geometry Compensation and Data-Driven Optimization (AEMMEX)
