S. Mateos received the MSc in Industrial engineering and the PhD degree from the University of Oviedo (Spain) in 1991 and 1996 respectively. Since 1999 he is Senior Lecturer and is working in the Department of Construction and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Oviedo. In his research activity he worked in the field of automation and manufacturing process planning. His current area of interest is focused on the implementation and integration of contact and non-contact inspection and scanning sensors in different equipment and production machines. He has participated in numerous research projects since 1994 and he has published numerous works including articles in indexed journals and conference papers.
