G. Valiño earned an MSc in Industrial Engineering (1994) and a PhD (2004) from the University of Oviedo, Spain. After three years in the metalworking industry, he joined the Department of Construction and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Oviedo in 1998 as an Associate Lecturer, becoming a Senior Lecturer in 2006. His research focuses on automation, manufacturing process planning, and integrating inspection and digitizing sensors into production machines. He is currently working on enhancing the precision of additive manufacturing (AM) processes. He has served as Principal Investigator on three projects and as co-Principal Investigator on one ongoing project. He has published more than 50 works, including papers in indexed journals and conference proceedings. Additionally, he is a member of the International Association of Engineers (IAENG) and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SIF), and regularly reviews for several international journals.
Projects: On-machine geometric inspection by means of Conoscopic Holography applied to freeform surfaces generated by milling, Real-time Compensation of Layer Geometry Errors for Additive Manufacturing Processes, Application of Conoscopic Holography Sensors for on CNC-Machines Inspection of Machined Surfaces, Accuracy Enhancement of Metal MEX Manufactured Parts through Geometry Compensation and Data-Driven Optimization (AEMMEX)
